Jenics markets Islington Wharf
Developer ISIS Waterside Regeneration, the company behind East Manchester's Islington Wharf project, has appointed Jenics as commercial agents for the development.
Jenics will handle the letting of seven units to be completed in June as part of the first phase of the 20-storey mixed-use development, which will also include 500 residential units, in Ancoats.
The commercial units comprise a glass-fronted waterfront bar/restaurant space of more than 5,000 sq ft, an 800 sq ft canalside unit suitable for a cafe or retail outlet, and five commercial units ranging from 288 sq ft to 300 sq ft.
Neil Bowler, director of Jenics, said: "It is important to attract the right occupiers to the scheme, not only in terms of the longevity of the unit, but also in terms of the quality and diversity of the operators.
"At a time when the city of Manchester is seeking significant levels of development, with many of these developments being mixed use schemes, it is refreshing that a residential developer sees the benefit of designing commercial accommodation as part of the scheme, rather than it becoming an add-on as a step towards planners' requirements for community regeneration."
