J Murphy and Sons to construct new Prescot/Bury water pipes

J Murphy and Sons has been awarded a contract by United Utilities for the procurement and construction of a water pipeline between Prescot and Bury and a pumping station at Prescot Water Treatment Works.

The contract is likely to be subcontracted and consists of the construction of 54km of water pipeline with 52km located in surrounding fields and road.

The contract is planned to include the detailed design the pipe material to meet specified performance.
