Island Express downsize at Heywood Distribution Park

The Isle of Man-based shipping and haulage company has relocated to a smaller office within Segro's distribution park in Rochdale.

The company has taken 5,379 sq ft Unit B12 (G) on a five-year lease for an undisclosed sum. The company was previously located in the 8,750 sq ft M5B unit at the park on an 18-month sub-lease with Nightfreight.

Island Express provides business and domestic customers with express overnight delivery of freight, parcels and heavy goods and Heywood Distribution Park is the company's only location in the UK.

Paul Chinn, managing director at Island Express, said: "The location suits the company perfectly but we didn't need all of the office space that we had in M5. We needed additional parking facilities for the wagons though, so Segro provided us with six spaces as part of the new deal."
