Irish food firm chooses Wrexham for UK debut

CB Richard Ellis North West has let an 85,000 sq ft food production unit at Wrexham Industrial Estate to poultry producer Annyalla Chicks on behalf of Delta Daily Foods.

The existing lease on the production facility at Abenbury Way has been assigned with 12 years remaining to Annyalla. The new facility will be the Irish company's first base in the UK.

Jonathan Thorne, associate director of industrial agency at CBRE North West, commented: "The letting shows that there is still activity in the occupational market even for bespoke types of buildings such as this, which is encouraging. Annyalla cast the net across the entire region in the search for its UK base.

"Wrexham is an excellent location for the company due to its close proximity to Holyhead, which provides an efficient supply route between the new facility and its existing premises in Ireland. Being based at Abenbury Way, the business will benefit from an established location with a good labour pool, and has negotiated a good deal for premises that already have a percentage of the fit-out elements in place for Annyalla's proposed use."

Wrexham Industrial Estate is one of the largest industrial locations in Europe, covering 550 hectares and accommodating around 300 businesses. Existing tenants include Kellogg's, JCB and Pirelli who have large facilities at the site.
