Investment planned at Burnley hotel after sale
Rambler Group has bought The Oaks Hotel and Leisure Club off Colne Road in Reedley for around £1.8m.
The 51-bed Burnley complex was sold by Lavender Hotels, which plans to reinvest the proceeds into its portfolio.
Lavender appointed Colliers to find a buyer for The Oaks, which features a leisure club and 3.5 acres of landscaped grounds, last year.
Rambler has added the hotel to its Aura portfolio, which also includes the recently acquired Craiglands in West Yorkshire.
Qasim Ahmed, chief executive of Rambler Group Holdings, said: “The hotel’s heritage and loyal customer base, combined with its operational strength, make it a fantastic acquisition.
“As a local company, we are enthusiastic about the potential to invest in the property and continue building on its success. Our vision is to enhance the guest experience while staying true to the character that makes The Oaks so special.”
Rambler Group’s plans for the hotel include the refurbishment of guest rooms the expansion of the leisure club, and the introduction of new dining options.
Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency at Colliers, added: “The appetite for regional hospitality assets remains strong, and The Oaks is a prime example of why that interest is well-founded.
“The open marketing generated considerable interest, highlighting the demand for such a well-known hotel in the East Lancashire area.”
Harrison Drury advised Lavender on legal matters. Onecall Hospitality advised Rambler Group Holdings.
