Insight takes 18,000 sq ft at Metro

Technology products retailer Insight Direct UK is to occupy one floor of BAM Properties' Metro office development in Salford Quays.

Insight agreed a ten-year lease on 18,000 sq ft at the development, which has been slow to let since completion in mid-2008.

The first letting at the development was announced in July this year, to engineers and consultants Sinclair Knight Merz, also taking 18,000 sq ft. The 72,500 sq ft office scheme is now 50% let.

Neil Mort, BAM Properties northern development manager based in Salford said: "It's been tough during the recession so it is particularly gratifying to have let half the building in the last five weeks, which hopefully augurs well for the region's property market."

Joint letting agents CBRE and Canning O'Neill acted for BAM Properties; Savills represented Insight.
