Ingall completes restructure of Capital Properties

Manchester-based property management company, Capital Properties, best known for animating the Spinningfields estate, is to cease running events and marketing to return to its core business managing buildings, following the departure of its senior management.

Managing director Mark Burgess left Capital Properties in June 2015.

Burgess was then hired by CBRE’s asset services team in December 2015. He has since resigned from CBRE to join former Capital Properties colleague Andy Philips at start-up Crowd UK.

Director Fran Burgess left Capital Properties at the same time as her husband. She was this month appointed to a place-making consultancy role with Ask Real Estate to help shape a major new development behind Manchester Central convention centre.

Mike Ingall, chief executive of Spinningfields developer Allied London, is a major shareholder in Capital Properties. Earlier this year the management of Spinningfields was taken back in-house by Allied London.

Capital Life, Capital Properties’ marketing and events function, will cease to operate. Craig Sackfield becomes managing director. He has been with Capital Properties since May 2013. Melanie Jones, who joined Allied London from CBRE in September 2015, becomes facilities management director. David Lord is financial controller.

Capital Properties’ new management team will report to Suresh Gorasia, chief operating officer of Allied London, who will represent Ingall and the other shareholders.

A spokesman for Capital Properties declined to name buildings that the company manages.
