The mansard roof at 30 Brown Street in Manchester has been removed as Russells Construction continues the conversion of the building into The Core.

The build project, started in May and scheduled to take 62 weeks, will see the addition of an extra floor taking the net internal area of the building to 48,000 sq ft.

Boultbee Brooks Real Estate bought the building in April 2015 from HIMOR, and appointed OBI Property to advise on its comprehensive refurbishment.

The building is being completely remodelled, with open services and a new façade as well as the additional space.

The professional team on the job also includes PRP Architects, Tier Consult as structural engineers and REDS as M&E consultants.

BBRE’s other Manchester holdings are Croxley House, 79 Mosley Street and Hyphen, its 66,000 sq ft office scheme at 67-75 Mosley Street.
