Hurstwood adds to Cheshire portfolio

The Manchester-based investor has acquired the former Global Eagle Entertainment headquarters on Parkgate Industrial Estate in Knutsford in an off-market deal.

The vendor was the building’s previous owner-occupir, Global Eagle, a US-based media and entertainment company, which closed the 13,100 sq ft office on Haig Road last year. The value of the sale to Hurstwood Holdings was not disclosed.

Hurstwood has now renamed the building Hurstwood House and plans to carry out a comprehensive refurbishment to provide flexible, fully serviced office suites and trade counter space.

Last year, Hurstwood bought another Knutsford office building – the 4,000 sq ft Windsor House – which is fully let to discounts aggregator Kids Pass.

Stephen Ashworth, chairman and chief executive of Hurstwood, said: “Following our acquisition of Windsor House last year, we have been particularly keen to build our portfolio in this part of Cheshire.

Hurstwood House is prominently situated on an established business park in an area that is seeing a significant amount of investment and we believe that, following the events of the last 12 months, the demand for provincial offices will continue to rise.”

Agency Williams Sillitoe acted on behalf of Hurstwood Holdings in the transaction and JLL represented Global Eagle.

Gateley provided legal advice to Hurstwood and Together Money provided the funding.
