HOW on board with Muse for Warrington town centre

Muse Developments has appointed HOW Planning to act as lead planning and environmental consultants for the £130m scheme to regenerate the Bridge Street Quarter.

Muse was selected in June 2011 by Warrington Council to deliver more than 500,000 sq ft of retail and leisure along with public spaces, indoor market and parking.

An extensive community consultation programme will be launched in the spring after which a planning application for the masterplan will be submitted to the council.

Gary Halman, partner at HOW Planning, said: "This is a really exciting scheme for what has been a neglected part of Warrington's town centre for too long. There is huge potential for regeneration and the plans being developed by Muse will make a significant contribution and act as a major catalyst for the regeneration of the wider town centre, as well as providing an impressive addition to the towns retail and leisure offer, closely linked in to the main shopping area.

"We are looking forward to working with Muse, the Council and the wider community over the next few months to develop the plans and put forward what we believe will be very welcome proposals for Warrington."
