Housing association expands Rochdale stock

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing is set to start on site this spring on a development of family homes in Smallbridge, Great Howarth.

RBH’s proposals will see 39 two, three, and four-bedroom houses built for shared ownership and “rent to buy”.

The homes have been designed by Manchester-based MHA Architects and are jointly funded by Homes England and RBH.

The plans have now received planning permission from Rochdale Council, and construction is expected to start in spring.

Gemma Wood, RBH head of development and regeneration, said: “We’re thrilled to receive consent to build our new homes in Smallbridge, and we’re really excited to provide brand new high-quality homes which will provide new affordable options for local people.

“We received an extremely positive response from residents at our consultation event last summer, and we’ve made sure that this new development on Great Howarth reflects the views of the community and helps us to deliver the quality and mix of homes that local people need.”
