Housing approved at Hyde business park

HOW Planning has secured planning permission to redevelop part of Newton Business Park in Hyde, Tameside, to deliver 64 homes.

The 5.4 acre brownfield site is owned by a private developer trading as Newton Business Park.

The area of the business park to be redeveloped currently comprises mostly empty buildings. Those still occupied by businesses will be re-housed within the existing business park.

Rhian Harris, planner at HOW Planning, said: “The vision for this new housing scheme is to deliver a sustainable development on what is an under-utilised part of Newton Business Park. The site is located within the urban area and the new development will play an important role in helping to address housing supply issues in the Borough.”
