Housebuilders gain consent for 1,000 Nantwich homes
A major housing settlement of almost 1,000 homes has been given the go-ahead by Cheshire East Council.
The application for 997 new homes at Kingsley Fields in Nantwich was the largest reserved matters planning application ever considered by Cheshire East.
The application was submitted by How Planning on behalf of housebuilders Taylor Wimpey, Redrow Homes and David Wilson Homes, supported by a design principle document prepared by Broadway Malyan.
On the 143-acre site, 366 homes are to be delivered by Taylor Wimpey, 319 by Redrow and 312 from David Wilson.
The land is currently owned by Reaseheath College and the development will help fund a range of new facilities including a new Agricultural Technology Centre.
I trust that there is an Affordable Homes quota within this obscene size of new-build development. Something at least to allow local youth to live in this beautiful area, sacrificed to maintain the College at which they are trained.

By what definition of affordable? 80% market value?
By PlanR
By the definition included with the application and S106.

That’s not very helpful APlan

Well it is and it isn’t. I just get a little fed up of people’s constant cynical views towards affordable housing provision. Surely if people felt that passionately about the issue they would review the details themselves before posting.
Apologies if yours was a genuine question PlanR, however there seems a lot of cynicism at the moment and I wanted a moan!
