Hope Street Hotel rolls into West Kirby

Liverpool's luxury Hope Street Hotel is to open its second offering as part of a £10m West Kirby redevelopment project.

The boutique hotel will form the centrepiece of the scheme, which will also include a new privately-funded sailing school.

Developer Carpenter Investments, which was founded jointly by David Brewitt, owner and operator of the Hope Street Hotel, and Alan Beer, director of Beers Timber & Building supplies, are now set to develop their initial proposals further after winning the Wirral Council bidding competition.

Their scheme will go out to public consultation, and planning permission will be sought towards the end of the year.

The new plans envisage a hotel located at the head of the Marine Lake, on the Dee Lane car park site, which will include a restaurant, bar, spa and conference facilities, and retail outlets.

The new sailing school will be built on the current site of the 43-year-old complex, and will feature an information centre for Hilbre Island, a separate boat storage building, and additional retail unit and cafe.

The sites will be integrated to form one waterfront attraction.
