Hollinwood Homes taps into HCA grants

Preston house builder Hollinwood Homes has secured £1.65m from the Homes & Communities Agency to build 66 new affordable homes across Preston.

The award was confirmed by housing minister Grant Shapps as part of his announcement on the latest round of funding from the government's Affordable Homes Programme.

Hollinwood Homes, headed up by director Duncan Bowman, will now deliver the homes in partnership with Preston Community Gateway. The first 22 will be built at the Larches Estate in Preston and are expected to be completed before the end of the year.

Added to earlier awards from the government's Kickstart and FirstBuy schemes, the Affordable Housing Programme funding takes the total amount awarded to Hollinwood Homes in the past 18 months to nearly £4m.

Bowman continued: "There are real opportunities for private house builders to work in partnership with public bodies and we are now actively looking for more sites across the North West where we can develop new schemes in a similar way."

Hollinwood Homes is the residential property arm of the Marcus Worthington Group.
