Historic Salford school building up for auction at £1m
The former Blackfriars Road School will go under the hammer with Pugh next month.
A five-storey, 10,000 sq ft building, off Blackfriars Road, close to Manchester city centre, it has been given a guide price of £1m.
The building has been used for warehousing, storage, and more recently as office space for an automotive textiles business.
According to the Land Registry, M Segal Motor Trimmings is the current owner of the building.
Many of the property’s 19th century features have been retained including original exposed beams and sash windows.
Pugh will be holding its online auction on 17 July.
Pugh director Edward Feather said: “This is such a characterful and attractive building with a proud history and, while it has been used as business space, there are all kinds of new potential uses it could be put to, especially given its size and great location.”
He added: “Blackfriars Road is known for having some well-appointed and sought-after apartments that have been developed within conversions of historic buildings such as the former Textiles Institute.
“Although obviously, the appropriate planning consent would need to be gained from the local authority for any change of use, residential accommodation is just one alternative use that this property would be fantastic for.”
This school was called Trinity not Blackfriars

The building was used as an annexe for trade apprentices attending Salford Tech College in the 1960’s.
