Henry Brothers appoints Northern director
Peter Commins will spearhead the construction company’s expansion in the North.
Henry Brothers Construction opened an office at Linley House in Manchester in November. The move to the North West signalled a name change for the company as well, which had previously been known as Henry Brothers Midland.
Commins has nearly 50 years of experience in the industry, much of it centred on the North. For years he was regional managing director for Kier. Before that, he held a similar role at Balfour Beatty. He is a past chairman of the Construction Confederation.
As director for the North, Commins will help grow the number of projects in the region. Already, Henry Brothers is working on the £12m refurbishment of the University of Manchester’s Chemistry Building.
Ian Taylor, managing director of Henry Brothers Construction, praised Commins’ appointment.
“Peter is very well known and hugely respected in the industry,” Taylor said. “We are delighted to have appointed him to spearhead the growth of Henry Brothers in the North of England.
“Peter has worked with numerous high-profile clients over many years,” Taylor continued.
“He knows the industry inside out, is extremely familiar with the region, and is perfectly placed to help us to continue to deliver the excellent service to clients that Henry Brothers is known for. We are pleased to welcome him to the team.”
For his part, Commins said he was “delighted” to be joining the Henry Brothers team.
“The company is on an impressive sustainable growth trajectory, and I am looking forward to supporting the business with its continued expansion,” Commins said.
“I’ve been impressed with the number of frameworks that Henry Brothers has been appointed to, including Crown Commercial Services, Pagabo, YORbuild, and Procure 23 – and their approach to environmental, social, and governance.”
Henry Brothers Construction is part of The Henry Group, which consists of a variety of manufacturing and construction companies.
