Harris takes sole ownership of Building Careers UK

Mark Harris, co-founder of the North West construction recruitment company, has bought out fellow founder Carl Donegan from the business.

Building Careers UK was created by Harris and Donegan in 2007. Today, the West Lancashire firm boasts a £12m turnover and has more than 30 staff members.

With that success, Donegan has decided to step aside from the business to move to his native Ireland. He will stay on as an executive until December 2024.

Harris said he was ready to take the business to the next level and grow its presence in Liverpool, Manchester, and Salford – as well as across Lancashire.

“We’ve built a fantastic company from very humble beginnings and the time is right to take sole ownership of Building Careers UK,” he said.

Harris added later: “Building Careers is not just another player in the market; we have thrived for two decades. Our success is grounded in consistently delivering exceptional results to our clients and forging enduring partnerships.

“Ours is a company driven by genuine care and commitment, and we are poised to embark on an exciting journey of growth and innovation in new business areas and locations.”

Building Careers UK helps find talent for a variety of roles in the built environment, starting from entry-level positions all the way up to executives.

£12m business from just linking people with jobs- not bad at all! Still amazes me with all the connections people have in the industry that there is still a need for recruitment agencies
