Hargreaves picked for next phase of Chamberhall sheds

Bury Council has selected the developer to bring forward 70,000 sq ft of industrial space across seven acres at the business park.

Hargreaves Land will take over from St Modwen as the council’s development partner for Chamberhall Business Park.

Hargreaves has signed a 250-year lease on the phase two site, located south of phase one, off Harvard Road between the fire station and the police station.

St Modwen’s decision not to continue as Bury Council’s development partner at Chamberhall Business Park was “because of a review of internal company priorities” according to a report to Bury Council’s cabinet last year.

The 130,000 sq ft first phase of Chamberhall Business Park completed in May 2020.

Occupiers at the 14-unit complex include Burgaflex, Capper Sharrock, Bollin Valley and Youthstar.

Hargreaves was contacted for comment.

Elsewhere at Chamberhall, Fintek, a company that specialises in metal surface finishes, has submitted an application to build an 11,500 sq ft head office.

Fintek is relocating from Halter Inn Works in Ramsbottom.
