Grosvenor/Lend Lease agree Cineworld deal at Tithebarn
Preston Tithebarn Partnership, the joint venture between Grosvenor and Lend Lease, has completed its third major prelet at the 32-acre, 1.5m sq ft city centre scheme.
Cineworld will occupy a nine-screen cinema alongside the refurbished market. Anthony Gill, project director, Preston Tithebarn Partnership, said: "The leisure anchor signing is a significant achievement in the development process and Cineworld will be a key element of the proposed Preston Tithebarn scheme. Along with new restaurants the cinema will enhance Preston's night time economy by attracting a wider range of visitors into the city centre in the evening."
Grosvenor and Lend Lease submitted an outline planning application in September for the long-awaited scheme, anchored by a 230,000 sq ft John Lewis and a 150,00 sq ft Marks & Spencer. In addition there will be 100 smaller shops, apartments and a refurbished Guild Arcade along with 2,700 parking spaces and a new bus station.
