Grosvenor appoints Co-op director Ramsbottom

Graham Ramsbottom, former director of the rural estate, land development and ventures division at Manchester's Co-operative Group, has been appointed by Grosvenor Estate.

He will join as managing director for its North West division and be responsible for 145 staff across the management of the Eaton Estate Office, the rural estates of Eaton, near Chester and Abbeystead in Lancashire.

He will also have a key role in developing the Grosvenor Estate's business interests in the North West.

Whilst at the Co-operative Group, Ramsbottom initiated and led the firm's proposal for a 15,000 home eco-town to be built on land owned by the Co-op on the edge of Leicester and has been involved in a number of renewable energy projects.

He is a chartered surveyor and formerly a partner with Strutt & Parker following time at the Royal Navy.

Ramsbottom will join Grosvenor on 9 March.
