Greater Manchester opens demolition framework

Tenders are being invited to provide demolition services for 14 public bodies in Greater Manchester over the next four years.

The projects will be divided into three lots: planned demolition works, emergency response in-hours only, and demolition enabling and emergency security works within 24 hours. A single supplier will be appointed for each of the two emergency works lots.

In total, the work available could be worth up to £20m.

The demolition framework covers 14 organisations: all ten local authorities, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Salix Homes, City West Housing Trust and the Northwest Ambulance Service.

The type of works covered include high rise work, asbestos removal, waste removal and securing and boarding up properties.

Salford City Council is leading on the framework. The deadline for submissions is 7 June.
