Gleeson Land appoints managing director

Guy Gusterson is heading up the land promotion division of housebuilder MJ Gleeson.

Gusterson began his role as managing director at Gleeson Land in December 2022, joining the company from St Modwen Properties. Gusterson had been with St Modwen for more than 15 years, including nearly three years as managing director for strategic land and regeneration.

Gusterson has more than 25 years of experience in property and has also worked for Crest Nicholson, Beechcroft Developments, and Laing Homes.

James Thomson, chief executive at MJ Gleeson, said he was “delighted” to have Gusterson join the team.

“With a wealth of sector experience, Guy will accelerate Gleeson Land’s growth once market conditions normalise and continue to build on its track record of success and strong industry relationships,” Thomson said.

Gleeson is based in Sheffield, but has offices in Rochdale, St Helens, and Penrith – as well as in Yorkshire and the North East.
