Glaisyers hires head of residential
The Manchester-based law firm has appointed Tom Simpson to lead its seven-strong residential property department, based at the company’s St James’s Square headquarters.
Prior to joining Glaisyers Solicitors, Simpson spent eight years at the Mossley-based firm Harold Stock & Co, qualifying there in 2013 and progressing to the position of head of residential property.
He specialises in investment properties, high-value properties, new-build developments and homes of multiple occupancy, and also has expertise in remortgaging and equity transfers.
David Marlor, equity partner at Glaisyers Solicitors, said: “Tom is a great lawyer who understands not only the complex legal points he will need to advise his team on, but also the importance of communication and understanding the emotional investment clients make in property transactions.”
Simpson’s appointment comes after Glaisyers announced a trio of hires in January which saw Ross Wellman join as partner, Emer McCool as a paralegal and Sarah Milligan as a commercial property lawyer.
In late 2018 Glaisyers was acquired by a consortium of investors led by Marlor and fellow equity partner David Jones, with ETL Global, an international network of professional service firms.
The Manchester and London-based firm increased its headcount by 25 per cent in 2019.
