Genesis targets Lancashire growth after key hire
Industry veteran Richard Robins has been appointed to head up the Cumbria developer’s move southwards.
Genesis Homes, which currently has just one Lancashire development, wants to grow this side of the business with the aim of delivering 150 homes in the country annually by 2028.
Robins has had spells with Redrow, David Wilson Homes, Vistry Group, and most recently as regional land director for Greater Manchester and Merseyside at Gleeson Homes.
He joins Genesis as land director for Lancashire and the North West.
“I am joining Genesis Homes at a really exciting period and by appointing me, among others, the business is investing in experience and expertise to reach these targets,” Robins said.
“What stood out to me when meeting with the team was the passion and drive to develop Genesis Homes. This is evident in how quickly the business has grown with 14 successful developments in fewer than eight years and five more launching in 2025 and 2026. It’s impossible not to be excited by this.”
Robins plans to embed himself in the Lancashire property industry straight away and the firm is aiming to establish a Lancashire office in the next 12 months.
“I’m very much looking forward to helping Genesis Homes make its mark in the North West in the coming years by selecting desirable areas that complement our high-quality homes.
“My focus will be on making connections with Lancashire landowners and agents. I’ll be out and about over the coming months and look forward to meeting with prospective clients.”
Nicky Gordon, founder and managing director of Genesis Homes, stressed the importance of the hire in the context of the business’s growth journey.
“It wouldn’t be dramatic to say that this is a crucial moment for our company, and Richard’s arrival is a key step towards ensuring we have the best possible expertise in place as we move forward.
“His extensive track record makes him the perfect fit for this role, and we are thrilled to have him on board as we push ahead with our vision for growth and success in Lancashire.”
