Galliford Try completes Fiveways Centre
The contractor has completed construction on an £8m centre in Childwall on behalf of development company Liverpool & Sefton Health Partnership.
The Fiveways Centre combines a library, a neighbourhood health centre, and education facilities for Childwall Sports College, providing the college with three learning spaces and two offices for use by sixth form students and staff.
The centre was developed by LSHP on behalf of Liverpool Primary Care Trust, Liverpool City Council and Childwall School Specialist Sports College. Building work began in summer 2010.
Gideon Ben-Tovim, chairman of Liverpool Primary Care Trust, said: "This is an extremely exciting and innovative scheme, which will drive health and wellbeing improvement in Childwall and the surrounding communities.
"The scheme underpins our on-going commitment to providing better healthcare services across the city and reducing health inequalities."
The neighbourhood health centre will offer services including sexual health clinics, blood tests, and minor surgical procedures. Longer opening hours, including evening and weekends, is planned.
Graham Pink, chief executive of LSHP, added: "LHSP Ltd has forged a successful partnership with Liverpool PCT and has now developed ten Neighbourhood Health Centres for them since we began in 2004."
