The law firm became the first company to commit to ECF’s 115,000 sq ft Salford office more than 18 months ago and has this week welcomed staff to the space.

TLT signed a 15-year lease on the top two floors at Eden, which is easily picked out on the skyline due to its 43,000 sq ft living façade.

The firm relocated from Spinningfields and John Wood, managing partner at TLT, said the move to one of the country’s most sustainable office developments was no coincidence.

He said: “The move to Eden is a central part of our sustainable growth, incorporating our progressive vision to reduce our environmental impact and create a positive people-first culture, whilst also supporting our national growth trajectory – of which Manchester has been a key part of in the last decade.”

The £36m Eden is capable of running on 100% renewable electricity and has been designed using the UK Green Building Council’s 2035 – 2050 standards. It has an upfront embodied carbon rate of 664kg CO2/m2 compared with more than 1,000kgCO2/m2 for a typical office scheme, according to ECF.

Sustainability credentials like these have made the project “the talk of the business community in Manchester” over the last 12 months, according to James Chadwick, TLT’s head of location in Manchester.

“We are incredibly proud to call the building our new home,” he said.

“Eden’s design, its sustainability features and the part it is playing in the regeneration of Salford will support our ambitions to have a positive impact on our people, as well as the communities in which we operate.”

The office was delivered by design and fit-out firm Interaction.
