GALLERY | Inside the refurbished 82 King Street
Working on behalf of landlord Priory Manchester, OBI has wrapped its work refreshing the grade one-listed Manchester building.
82 King Street is the former Bank of England building in the city centre and dates back to the 1800s. The building most recently changed hands in 2024, after then-owner Columbia Threadneedle put it on the market for £30m.
Priory Manchester’s programme of works included bringing the entire 6,100 sq ft fifth floor to Cat A standard, adding showers and a changing room to the basement, installing WCs and lift lobbies on each floor, and refurbishing the reception.
The rejigged fifth floor is the only available space in the 83,500 sq ft building, which boasts Wella, Regus, and Federico Wine Bar as tenants.
OBI is the asset manager for 82 King Street and acted as project manager, contract administrator, and quantity surveyor on the refurbishment. 3D Reid designed the work with MEP Design. Spacescape was the main contractor.
