Fylde signs off 41 affordable homes

Bowsall Developments has gotten the all-clear from the council to construct a mixture of walk-up flats and two-, three-, and four-bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses on 3.8 acres off Preston New Road in Westby-with-Plumptons.

The site, which is largely scrubland, sits behind Lytham Window Company and encompasses the old Clock Garage. It is a non-strategic housing site in the Fylde local plan.

Fylde councillors voted to approve the project at the planning committee meeting earlier this month.

Bowsall’s greenlit plans include under an acre of open space with a play area. There would be nine different housetypes. Of the 41, six would have one bedroom, 15 would have two, 18 would have three, and two would have four. That number includes 11 houses that would be designed to wheelchair-accessible standards.

Hourigan Planning assisted Bowsall on the planning process, with Watkiss Dawson & Ward drawing up the design and access statement. The project team also included Bailey Venning Associates, RPS, E3P, Patrick Parsons, Topping Engineers, Dart Engineers, Prime Transport, Redmore Environmental, Cameron S Crook and Associates, and Trevor Bridge Associates.
