Future of region’s logistics market under spotlight
Hear from Peel Ports, Jones Lang LaSalle, Miller Developments, Liverpool LEP among others at a dedicated full-day conference on Tuesday 11 June.
Logistics & Manufacturing 2013 will offer the industrial property community the chance to meet and learn from a range of experts within the sector.
The North West is one of the hot spots for distribution in the UK, with strong take-up of 4.15m sq ft in 2012. This year is seeing a return to a design-and-build market and potential for rental growth due to a lack of available product.
There are major developments planned and ongoing at the Port of Liverpool, Manchester Airport City and Omega in Warrington.
But will Northern ports really persuade cargo servics to leave the South? And are developers ready to exploit the growth in container volumes if the Liverpool 2 deep-water terminal hits its targets? Are we any closer to seeing a return to speculative shed development?
Logistics & Manufacturing 2013 will attempt to answer these question as we explore occupier demand, inter-modal transport investment, development viability, manufacturing skills, land supply, and public sector policy.
Speakers presenting on the day will include:
- Jon Sleeman, director of logistics & industrial research, Jones Lang LaSalle – Overview of supply and demand in shed market, putting North West in national context
- Jonathan Wallis, director, Miller Developments, partner of Omega Warrington Ltd – Story of how Omega Warrington reached delivery stage
- Stephen Carr, head of business development, Peel Ports Mersey – Is North West property market ready for Liverpool 2?
- Peter Jeffery, chief executive, Logistics Support Services – Trends in UK and international supply chain optimisation and port-centric development
- Simon Wood, partner, B8 Real Estate – Investor interest in North West industrial stock; what's hot, what's not
- Mark Basnett, executive director for key growth sectors at the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership – Public-private initiatives to transform sub-region into a SuperPort
- John Roberts, planning solicitor, Hill Dickinson – Case studies of decisions around supply of new distribution sites
- Occupiers will be added to the speaker line-up shortly
