Fragrance Group seeks feedback on £30m Blackpool hotel
The 184-bedroom seafront venue would be the Singapore-based operator’s third in the town.
Fragrance Group has launched a consultation on its plans to build a ‘high-quality’ four-star hotel on Blackpool Promenade. The consultation will run until 5 July.
Architect Falconer Chester Hall is designing the scheme, which would sit on the former site of St Chads Hotel, Lyric Hotel, and Regency Apartments following their demolition earlier this month.
At the time of demolition, 157 bedrooms were planned. Therefore, updated plans mark a 30-room increase and include 12 accessible suites.
Proposals for the £30m project also include a ground-floor restaurant and bar area, which will sit 150 guests, as well as an external terrace.
Guests would also have access to 40 car parking spaces, including four disabled and six electric vehicle charging bays.
Fragrance Group acquired the former St Chads Hotel for an undisclosed sum in 2018 from the Whittaker family.
This acquisition was the company’s third in Blackpool, having already bought the Imperial and Lyndene hotels.
Elsewhere in the North West, Fragrance Group has recently overseen the restoration of the Municipal Buildings in Liverpool to create a 179-bedroom hotel.
Greatly improve our sea front, just what Blackpool needs

That’s what is needed in Blackpool. I visit Blackpool twice a year and stay at the Lyndene next-door and it’s fine central and the food is good, plenty of entertainment. But Blackpool needs some new hotels. Good luck with the hotel 👌👍

I have to say Blackpool is struggling to fill most hotels in parts of Blackpool and a lot have gone out of business so to be honest why would we need another hotel

Doesn’t fit in with the other building’s on the promenade in that area

184 Bedrooms and only 40 parking spaces! Can’t believe this is even considered acceptable with a new development.
