Football concept takes 25,000 sq ft at Printworks
Located within DTZ Investors’ Manchester leisure venue, Crossbar will allow guests to compete against each other in skills challenges before enjoying a meal in an on-site steakhouse.
The football concept, the brainchild of hospitality entrepreneur Brett Duarte, has signed a 20-year lease on 25,000 sq ft at the Printworks, taking over the unit previously occupied by Bierkeller.
The Manchester site is Crossbar’s first.
Crossbar will feature tech-enabled “football boxes” and will cater to all levels of players, “from casual gamers to competitive enthusiasts”, according to a press release sent to media announcing the deal.
Two bars and a restaurant are also planned.
Dan Davis, general manager at Printworks, said: “Crossbar’s arrival at Printworks perfectly embodies our ambition to create dynamic experience-led destinations and strengthens our reputation as Manchester’s leading leisure destination.
“We’re thrilled to be the first to secure a lease for such a groundbreaking brand and can’t wait to see guests experience it for themselves. With an exciting partnership announcement with a major sports brand on the horizon, Crossbar is set to become one of the city’s most talked-about venues.”
Crossbar is scheduled to open in June 2026 and is the latest arrival following DTZ’s £27m refurb. This project included the installation of a digital ceiling.
Printworks said footfall has risen 15% in the last year.
