Flixton cricket club appoints Raynes
Raynes Architecture has been appointed by Flixton Cricket and Sports Club to build a new clubhouse and sports hall in Trafford.
The Flixton Cricket and Sports Club committee has approved designs which, were unanimously passed on Thursday night by the members at an extraordinary general meeting.
The new club house will have facilities for all members, including an indoor bowls and cricket hall for year-round use and a bar.
The project is currently at feasibility stage and a planning application is aimed to be submitted once funding is secured. The project cost is £1.5m.
The new clubhouse and sports hall covers 16,684 sq ft across two floors in total and will have a view of the bowling green, indoor hall and cricket pitch and a section within the bar designed for families.
The redesigned and modernised function room was designed with flexibility in mind to adapt to a range of functions or social occasions and will be available for hire by members and even for corporate functions. New kitchens are also being built.
The clubhouse is being built with ecological and economic sustainability in mind. By working with Jacob Eco Energy at concept design, Raynes Architecture has included solar photovoltaic panels on the roof that aim to cut carbon emissions and produce enough electricity to generate a new income stream through government Feed-In-Tariffs.

Lisa Raynes is a chartered architect and past chairman of Women in Property's North West branch.
She has 15 years post qualification experience and has previously worked with Halliday Meecham, Ian Simpson Architects and Urban Splash in Manchester in housing, masterplanning, commercial, leisure and listed building sectors.
