Fleming rises to top job at BAM North West
BAM Construct has appointed Ian Fleming as the regional director of its Salford-based North West construction business.
Fleming’s promotion from the position of construction director follows 17 years with the company.
He said: “We’re known for our signature buildings such as Manchester City’s Football Academy, One Angel Square and the National Graphene Institute, and that can overshadow the quality of our universities, schools and health work. Currently we’re working schemes such as Crewe university technical college and the North West Construction Hub’s Great Sankey leisure project in Warrington.”
Fleming has previously worked for Kier, Alfred McAlpine, and Balfour Beatty and takes over the youngest of BAM’s seven regional construction businesses, albeit one with a client list including BAE Systems, Unilever, Aintree Hospital and Allied London for which BAM is delivering No.1 Spinningfields.
BAM is also working on a new neo-natal suite for Glan Clwyd Hospital in North Wales, while work will start this year on an Engineering Innovation Centre at the University of Central Lancaster.
He said: “We’ve recently finished MediaCityUK university technical college and the Materials Innovation Factory for Liverpool University. Our expertise and adaptability means we’re able to build in many sectors and at many scales – our clients come back to us which in itself is revealing.”
