First tower at Manchester Waters tops out
The first of the X1 and Peel L&P’s development of five towers at its site at Pomona Island, currently being built by Vermont, has reached a construction milestone.
One completed, the tower will have 75 apartments, and is part of the wider 742-apartment scheme featuring a mix of one, two, and three-bed homes.
The first two towers, both of which are under construction, are fully sold. Each tower is set to be clad in facades in varying shades of bronze, silver, gold, rose gold, and platinum.
The scheme is part of the wider redevelopment of Pomona Island, and is set to be managed and let by X1’s lettings team. X1 Manchester Waters is part of Peel L&P’s ‘Strategic Waters initiative’ which aims to regenerate previous industrial sites at waterfronts across the UK.
The two initial towers secured consent in 2017 while three further blocks were approved in January this year.
Melissa Green, head of operations at X1, said: “We are delighted to be working with Peel L&P at the X1 Manchester Waters site and contributing towards the wider regeneration of Pomona Island. We are confident the apartments here will be immensely popular with residents thanks to the onsite amenities, waterfront views and its location adjacent to the Metrolink station.
“The topping out of X1 Manchester Waters Tower 1 is a key milestone in the build and we look forward to meeting the new residents very soon.”
The scheme has been designed by Falconer Chester Hall and NJL Consulting.
