FDG appoints interior design head

Fairhursts Design Group has hired Janine Hames to take over the role from Tim Bramley in the Manchester office.

Hames has been running her own interior design consultancy for the past 12 years and designed schemes for McDonald Hotels and British Airports Authority, developing prototype World Duty Free retail outlets worldwide, as well as designing and project managing eight high-end residences across the UK. Previously, Hames spent six years working in Doha where she delivered a 100,000 sq ft palace for The Emir Sheikh Hammad bin Khalifa Al Thani, a member of the Qatari royal family.

Hames' key role will be to expand the interior design business into new sectors. The current head of interior design Tim Bramley will move into a new position to promote FDG's expertise in sustainable, low-carbon interior design whilst continuing to work alongside senior interior designer Kay Bridge in supporting current client requirements.

Richard Sagar, managing director at Fairhursts Design Group, said: "As a growing company, we are constantly looking to invest in the very best talent to add to our expert team here in the North West and, with a whole host of international projects under her belt, we are all extremely excited about her arrival. Janine's wealth of experience across all aspects of interior design, together with her technical ability to support architectural design teams and business development skills will be invaluable to FDG going forward."

FDG was established in 1896 and is managed by a board of seven directors; Ian G Fitton, Denver Humphrey, Ian R Chapman, Richard W Sagar, Eddie Fell, Mark Adey and Richard Fitton. It has offices in Manchester and Southampton and has more than 60 employees.
