Fallows absorbed into Calderpeel
Manchester-based architect Jonty Fallows has joined Calderpeel along with three of his senior designers following dissolution of Fallows Gowen Partnership.
Fallows became a non-executive director of Calderpeel, now renamed calderpeel_fgp, on 1 September. Fallows will work part-time for a handover period before retiring. FGP's senior designers Chris Stubbs, Karen Jones and Richard Moore also join calderpeel_fgp, which now employs 25 people in Altrincham.
Harry Calder, chairman and director of calderpeel_fgp, said: "Following unsuccessful management buyout negotiations, FGP was left with no alternative other than to dissolve the partnership and close the equal equity business.
"Jonty's retirement plans, although somewhat changed, are very much in place. Calderpeel are very proud to ensure his legacy and reputation with his existing and new clients, and will facilitate the transfer of his work to the FGP team within Calderpeel."
FGP specialises in high-end private residential design. The FGP team within Calder Peel will be headed by Stubbs, who has 14 years' experience with Fallows and David Gowen.
Calderpeel likewise has a track record in designing upmarket bespoke houses. The practice is also delivering fire stations under PFI with Kier in Gloucester and recently won the Staffordshire Fire & Rescue PFI.
