Date: 23 April 2009, 6:57 - 12:00

Are you involved in working on traditional pre-1919 buildings? Are you aware of the requirements for working on heritage sites? Are you aware that annual conservation, repair and maintenance work on the north-west’s traditional buildings is potentially worth £550 million? Only a third of this work currently involves traditional materials and it is our ambition to close the gap, increase the uptake of specialist training and increase the heritage skills available in the region. The breakfast meeting on the 23rd April will provide an opportunity to find out about future requirements for contractors working on certain heritage sites, what training opportunities and funding exist, and help identify gaps and consider how you can explore the business opportunity to work on heritage buildings. The meeting will introduce you to the opportunities for your company, highlighting the following: -North West Built Heritage – why its care and conservation is important -Heritage qualifications and CSCS Heritage cards – get qualified and accredited for this sector -Construction Skills grants -Train to Gain Service The workshop takes place from 7.45am until 10am
