RTPI North West: Heritage and Design

This event focuses on the important relationship of urban design with heritage, and the way that these features of the planning system can be used as a positive tool for urban and rural regeneration. Understanding and reinforcing the unique characteristics of any area is vital if we are to create sustainable, well connected, liveable places.

The event will consider the relevance of concepts and strategies such as local vernacular, heritage-led design and the garden city within the comtemporary pro-growth policy context.

The event will finish with a practical workshop which will focus on development urban characterisation skills.
