RICS underground tunnels tour
The RICS Greater Manchester quantity surveying and construction professional group is holding a tour of Manchester city centre's underground tunnels on 26 October to coincide with Halloween.
Overview
Beneath the city streets of Manchester lies a hidden landscape of long abandoned tunnels and caverns. The RICS through local tour guide John Schofield has gained access to these secret places and invites anyone interested to go on a journey with them to explore this subterranean world.
Two centuries of development has left a legacy of underground tunnels, sewers, canals, and cellars. These rarely visited spaces have been unchanged for decades and offer a window into the city's past
The Group will congregate at the Bridgewater Hall Main Entrance, Lower Mosley Street, Manchester, M2 3WS Manchester City Centre at 5:45pm, ready for a 6pm start and the tour will last approximately one and a half hours. Good walking shoes and a torch will be needed. Distance being covered is approximately one mile.
Cost: £16 plus £3.20 VAT.
