Professional Liverpool has got together with leading learning disability charity MENCAP to give local business leaders the chance to swap the boardroom for the big stage. The inaugural Professional Liverpool Idol event, a parody on The X-Factor, will be held on Thursday 9th July at PanAmerican at The Albert Dock, with the aim of raising more than £15,000 for the Charity. Up to 10 singers will go head-to-head in front of a panel of esteemed judges and a screaming audience, with their peers in the crowd deciding the winner. Mark Chadwick, Chief Executive of Professional Liverpool said of the event, “This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to trade iMacs for microphones and take part in a truly unique local charity event. MENCAP is a great charity and we are happy to be involved.” “Partnering with Professional Liverpool gives this event a real presence and gravitas”, added Gayle Derrick, Head of Regional Fundraising North West, MENCAP.
