Place has teamed up with its sister website, How-Do , to put on an industry forum on Thursday 31 March focused on the travel, leisure and tourism activity.

The half-day event is aimed at senior in-house marketers, brand managers and communications professionals within the visitor economy and leisure sectors.

Three of the North West's leading marketers will deliver keynote presentations at the forum:

  • Paul Simpson, Managing Director, Visit Manchester
  • Sarah Lundy, Blackpool cluster marketing manager, Merlin Entertainments
  • Alasdair McNee, corporate services director, the North of England Zoological Society, Chester Zoo

The forum is supported by Euro RSCG Manchester PR, Mosquito Digital and Pocket Manchester, three companies with an active and growing interest in Travel, Leisure and Tourism.

The inter-related sectors of travel, leisure and tourism are big business internationally and here in the North West. Spending on leisure continues to grow and the three sectors now account for a significant proportion of consumer expenditure and investment globally.

Indeed, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), estimates that in 2010, travel and tourism alone employed over 235 million people across the world- 8.2% of all employment – and generated 9.2% of world GDP.

In a world where today's marketers in TLT are presented with a dizzying array of challenges and opportunities when it comes to growing, enhancing and developing their brands and products, this invite-only event will enable delegates to share, discuss and debate market-leading methodology in their sectors and ensure their messages are clearly and successfully positioned and differentiated in the marketplace.

Over the course of the three-hour forum, delegates will benefit from three keynote presentations, a high-end panel debate and interactive roundtable discussions exploring key issues relating to marketing and communications within TLT.

Critically, the format of the event will be focused on facilitating interaction and targeted networking, in order to allow delegates to be in a position to engage, share ideas with and learn from each other, as well as from industry experts.

Time, date, venue:

  • 1:30pm to 5:00pm
  • Thursday 31 March
  • Cobbetts, 58 Mosley Street, Manchester, M2 3HZ

We are delighted the Cobbetts, a leading law firm with significant interest in the TLT sectors, has agreed to host this industry event.

This event is strictly for in-house marketers and communicators working in private and public sector organisations (no agencies) and there is no charge for attendance.
