Event details
This essential CPD presentation provides an introduction to the RICS New Rules of Measurement (NRM), the first of which was published last year, for the Order of Cost Estimating and Elemental Cost Planning. It will explain the RICS Measurement Initiative and provide an overview of the NRM for cost estimating and cost planning, together with key points.

It will cover how each measurement stage is linked to RIBA Work Stages as well as the OGC Gateways; identify the three formal cost planning stages; and how risk, fees, inflation and other issues that arise in cost planning are managed on a consistent basis. It will also provide insights as to how NRM will raise the profile of the quantity surveyor to clients, the benefits of NRM and demonstrate the importance of measurement in the cost management of works, particularly at the early stages.
