Mott MacDonald Webinar: What does Levelling Up mean for cities?

Date: 24 March 2022 - 24 March 2022, 1:30 - 2:30

Location: Online

Our panellists are drawn from across a spectrum of geographies and will be seeking to answer: What does Levelling Up mean for cities?

Now the industry has had time to digest the meaning of the Levelling Up White Paper, join us to discuss the future direction of cities and urban areas in Britain.

Join us on 24 March at 1.30pm to hear from Andrew Guest, our General Manager for the Western Division of the UK Buildings and Cities Unit. Andrew works closely with our newly formed Cities Studio combining our economic and regeneration capability with our master planning and engineering design teams.

He will be joined by new Strategic Director of Growth and Development for Manchester City Council, Becca Heron. Becca has a key role in the delivery of the ambitions set out in the Our Manchester strategy, leading the city’s recovery following the pandemic, building on the successes of the last two decades to drive inclusive growth that will ensure the city continues to be one of the most exciting destinations in Europe to live, work and play.

We’re also delighted that Lord Bassam of Brighton will join us.  In 2018/19 Lord Bassam chaired and authored a report as Chair of the Lords Select Committee on The Future of Seaside Towns, which recommended the expansion of town deals and argued for improved connectivity and levelling up. He is now Co-Director of Place at Business in the Community. It should prove to be a very informative 60minutes in your working week!

Please register your interest to attend the webinar now and you will be sent a direct link to the Teams Live event, nearer the time.
