Minimising The Risks of Redundancy Seminar
Date: 2 October 2008, 7:30 - 12:00
Location: Hill Dickinson, 50 Fountain Street, Manchester
HR professionals in Greater Manchester seeking expert legal advice on how to manage redundancies are invited to attend a breakfast seminar being staged by law firm Hill Dickinson. The seminar – entitled Minimising The Risks of Redundancy – is from 7.30am on Tuesday, 2nd October at Hill Dickinson’s Manchester office at 50 Fountain Street. Saira Ali, solicitor in the employment and pensions practice group of Hill Dickinson, will address key areas including employers’ legal obligations, the danger areas and potential pitfalls of a redundancy process and how those responsible for managing the process can do so effectively. Saira said: “The credit crunch is having an inevitable impact on businesses and organisations. Many are having to downsize operations and workforce to stay competitive. The redundancy consultation and selection process has a number of inherent risks which, if managed properly, can help to minimize the risk of employees bringing claims for unfair dismissal and discrimination.” Registration and breakfast at 7.30am is followed by the seminar at 8am, and a 30-minute question and answer session from 9am. Anyone interested in attending should e-mail simon.penfound@hilldickinson.com or call Simon on 0161 817 7231.
