Speaker: Ed Burrows, Property Director, Peel Media Ltd and Chartered Town Planner

Manchester University graduate in Town and Country Planning Ed joined Peel in 1987 after 13 years in Local Government in the North West. Ed has worked on Peel’s development programme in Manchester and Salford and across the North West, in particular being instrumental in the initial bid for the BBC project mediacity:uk is the UK’s first purpose-built media city.

An internationally significant hub for the media and creative industries that will deliver a new broadcasting centre for the UK with the leading broadcast, media and technology brands at its heart. Covering 200 acres of Salford Quays, mediacity:uk will complement two existing iconic buildings – The Lowry and the Imperial War Museum North.

The presentation by Ed Burrows, Property Director of Peel Media will outline the vision for mediacity:uk, highlight the benefits of the development and the opportunities for the North of England and the UK as a whole. The presentation will also explore the master plan for the scheme and bring the audience up-to-date with the current timeline of activity.
