Bovis Lend Lease – MediaCityUK Tour

SPEAKERS:

Philip Lovell, Operations Director

John Hyne, Project Director

Derek Elliott, Building Services Manager

Nicola Percival, Senior Sustainability Manager

The MediaCityUK management team will introduce the overall concept of Media City and the challenges faced throughout its construction. As a mixed development of over 1.2 million ft sq on a 38 acre MediaCityUK aims to produce a new city on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal. Creating Europe's leading Media hub has meant the development of new roads, public park, piazza and on site power generation. Development objectives are:

To create a globally significant new MediaCityUK capable of competing with the world's best examples

To place the BBC as the focal point of MediaCityUK in buildings which fully comply with their brief

To create a physical environment which enables and stimulates linkage and the exchange of ideas

To stitch MediaCityUK into the physical, cultural, economic and educational fabric of the region and the Northern Way

To create a place where people want to live, work, learn, and invest together with a destination for the visiting public

The presentation will include a discussion of the key challenges faced; the sustainability credentials of the project; logistics solutions implemented for such a large complex site and the project's local impact. The session will also include an interactive tour of the project site.

This is a great opportunity to look at what challenges key clients, contractors and suppliers face when dealing with large projects, and will also offer an opportunity to network with a range of clients, contractors and industry professionals in this unique event.

REFRESHMENTS & SNACKS WILL BE SERVED DURING REGISTRATION
