Liverpool Commercial District Publication
For much of the 19th and 20th centuries Liverpool was one of the world’s great commercial centres – a vibrant economic hub that was home to major shipping, banking, legal and insurance companies whose reach spread around the globe. A major part of the city’s current success and future prosperity is once again a thriving commercial centre. To mark the importance to Liverpool of commerce and the commercial district, English Heritage, with support from Liverpool Vision, has produced a new book charting the area’s history and renaissance. The publication – ‘Built on Commerce: Liverpool’s Central Business District’ – will be launched to an invited audience on Wednesday 30 July at 62 Castle Street, Liverpool. Drinks will be served from 6pm. Please respond to Pam Carroll as above.
