Inclusive Environments through the use of Design and Access Statements

Professor Marcus Ormerod from the SURFACE Inclusive Design Research Centre at the University of Salford considers the role of design and access statements in design; planning; building regulations; construction; commissioning; and post occupancy phases of projects to deliver inclusive environments. The use of access statements to provide an audit trail of design decisions for the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 with 2005 amendments will be examined. Registration for an evening event begins at 1730hrs, the seminar begins at 1800hrs and will finish at approximately 1930hrs and includes refreshments and a delegate pack. Costs are as follows: Member – £22.00 net plus £3.85 VAT = £25.85 per person Non Member – £24.00 net plus £4.20 VAT = £28.20 per person
