Place North West and Remarkable Engagement would like to invite you to a breakfast debate at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on Monday 22 September to discuss housing policy.
The event will coincide with the Labour Party Conference, coming to Manchester from Sunday 21 to Wednesday 24 September, and take the form of a panel debate with prominent figures from the Coalition Government and Opposition.
The speakers confirmed so far include:
Lord Mike Storey, former Leader of Liverpool City Council and Life Peer for the Liberal Democrats speaking on regeneration matters in the House of Lords
Cllr Kieran Quinn, Leader of Tameside Council, chairman of Greater Manchester Pension Fund and director of New Charter Housing Trust
Cllr Derek Antrobus, Assistant Mayor for Planning for Salford City Council, and member of the Greater Manchester Planning & Housing Commission
Housing is expected to be among the priority themes for all the main parties in next year's General Election campaign, with changes to housing benefit, council house building and green belt protection all likely to figure on the agenda.
The event is due to be a high-profile gathering of senior property professionals and politicians. There will be an informal buffet breakfast followed by a debate in the Barbirolli Room at the Bridgewater Hall. There will be the opportunity to put questions from the floor.
The event is free to attend and is organised by Place North West in association with Remarkable Engagement, the public consultation and political engagement specialists.
